The Itinerary

Chicago - Rarotonga (Cook Islands) - Nadi (Fiji) - Auckland - Sydney - Overland to Hobart (Tasmania) - Bali (Denpasar) - Singapore - Bangkok - Kathmandu - Paris - Zurich - Berlin - Amsterdam - London - Reykjavik - Chicago - San Jose - Chicago

Well, I finally figured out this whole blog thing and how to post pictures (thanks to Bobby G...much love..)..so I am ready for my second entry! Scheduled departure date is November 6th, with a 12 hour layover in L.A. This was my choice, because I thought it would be great to see my old pals from San Diego...before I head on out....maybe even one from High School! I am going to get to see all my USA peeps before I leave...which works out soo great...since I won't see anyone familiar for over a year! I will be with my Chi-town friends in Mexico...for a friends wedding...which is less than two weeks away..and then off to Myrtle Beach the next week to relax and visit with my old college friends. Then starts the two week count down...to the trip of a life time....Who could ask for anything more!

Here's the plan...One week in the Cook Islands, a week in Fiji, 40 days in New Zealand, including Christmas...at the hot springs in Rotura, then off to Australia, spending New Years in Sydney, and three months seeing everything else. Then I figure (since this part is not booked yet) one week in Bali, Indonesia...5 days in Singapore...a month in Thailand...a month in Nepal....a month in Europe, including Amsterdam for my birthday, and one week in Iceland. Then there will be a slight detour back to the USA, for my sisters wedding...and then off to Costa Rica..till December of 2006! Did I miss anything?....well yeah...maybe a cruise in December before heading home (FREEBIE!!!!) to save up money for the next trip....J/K....or to figure out the rest of my life...or maybe I will just stay in Costa Rica....Who knows...but I can't wait to find out!!!

Not All Who Wander Are Lost

So my journey begins, with the start of this blog....actually it began two years when I had this idea, that I no longer liked living in San Diego, and I needed to go on a journey to find my place in this world. I have been doing this sort of thing my whole life...doing what feels right, and I figure that as long as I am happy, that is all that matters. It has been working great for me so far, so why should I start doubting myself now??? For those of you who don't know, I moved back in with my parents after living on my own for 8 years. Some people have said that how could you do that?, but truth be told-I have the greatest parents in the world and moving in with them after living away for so long, has really been a blessing. I might never have the opportunity to spend this much time with them in the future (you never know what tomorrow will bring - besides I don't see myself winding up in Chi-town). So I am cherishing every moment of it, and feeling thankful...that in doing this it has allowed me to save up the amount of money that I need to have an adventure of this sort. So two years later, the tickets are booked, I saved enough money, and there is no turning back now!!! I can't wait!!!!!
